NOTE FROM PASTOR D

From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Even as I think about stepping away for a season, my heart is flooded with all sorts of feelings.

One such feeling is gratitude — I am grateful for the opportunity to step away, for an intentional time of spiritual rest and renewal. Another is tenderness — my heart grows tender when I think about being away from my faith family for this extended season. I am also humbled — humbled that YOU would be so kind to come and invest in the people of TGC in my stead.

To this end, let me tell you a little bit about the people of TGC. They are spectacular. I still have to pinch myself, some mornings, when I think about the opportunity God has given me to serve Him here. These are some of the most-loving, most-faithful, most-teachable people I’ve ever known.

And our team, man, they are simply the best. You are in for a real treat when you come to teach at TGC later this Spring!

I wanted to make sure you had everything you needed in advance of your time with us, so please make sure to read through the information below and do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions!

I love each of you deeply and am so appreciative of your willingness to teach in my stead.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT TGC

By God’s grace, we really are in a sweet season of life as a faith family. God’s Spirit has been tangibly present in our gatherings, as of late, and the altar of our church has been occupied virtually every Sunday. It’s hard to explain, but — as we are coming to learn — movements of God rarely tend to fit into our tidy little boxes. Long story short, we are experiencing God’s touch.

We believe that God, in His perfect timing, is bringing YOU to TGC to be part of this work. So to this end, we ask that you prayerfully consider what He might have you to teach while you are with us.

For reference, I have been teaching week-to-week in a series called FRESH FIRE (click MESSAGES below to see recent sermons). Key themes of our year together, so far, have been the altar, surrender, faith, and Spirit-filled living

Know this — I trust you and I trust the Spirit in you to lead you to the passage/message that our people will need. Of course, if you have any questions — please do not hesitate to let me know!

HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU?

Our team (and very soon, our entire church family) has been (and will be) praying for you. At TGC, we are a praying church, and so — even now — we are asking God to give you a word from Heaven when you join us this Spring.

If there are any specific needs that exist in your life (family, ministry), we would love to be praying for you. Simply click the button that says PRAYER below and you’ll see an email pop-up that allows you to communicate your needs to our team of intercessors.

SUNDAY SCHEDULE

Typically, we like for guest speakers to arrive at TGC around 9:30AM. Our gathering begins at 10:30AM, so this gives us time to check your mic, spend time in prayer and go over our game plan for the gathering.

Your point person, while at TGC, will be our Operations Pastor Jacob Bagley. Jacob’s cell is 478-396-5800. If you have any questions (or needs), he will be standing by to serve you.

Plan on shooting Pastor Jacob a text when you are on your way to TGC. When you arrive on our campus (1605 Mars Hill Road, Acworth, GA 30101), Pastor Jacob will be on hand to meet you and escort you up to our meeting room. He will work with our AV team to make sure you are mic’d up and that any media you have is integrated into our system.

Once we’ve verified that everything is good to go, Pastor Jacob will escort you to our deacon prayer time. There, you’ll get to meet some of our most-faithful men and share together in a time of prayer. At the conclusion of this time, our entire platform team will come together for a review of the gathering game plan and prayer. At this point, we’ll be just a few minutes out from start, so you’ll have time to use the restroom, grab a drink and collect your thoughts before our gathering begins.

I typically teach for 35-40 minutes, so please feel free to use that same allotment of time should you need it. Each of you will work with Pastor Jacob ahead of time to plan the response portion of the gathering.

Once the gathering concludes, Pastor Jacob will escort you out to the front of our building where you can connect with the people of TGC. This time typically wraps up around 12:15PM (or so), at which point Pastor Jacob would love to take you to lunch (if your schedule allows).

ONCE MORE, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART — THANK YOU!
